Generated Passwords
How to generate strong passwords
1. Choose a mode
Select Password for a randomized character string, or Passphrase for a sequence of random words (Diceware-style) that is easier to remember yet hard to crack.
2. Set length and character sets
For passwords, pick a length (8–128 characters) and enable the character sets you need: uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols. Longer passwords exponentially increase brute-force resistance. For passphrases, choose the word count (3–12) and an optional separator.
3. Generate and copy
Click Generate. All passwords are created in your browser using the Web Crypto API — nothing is sent to a server. Copy or download the results for use in your accounts.
Password strength and entropy
- Password entropy is measured in bits of entropy. A password with over 80 bits of entropy is considered highly secure against brute-force attacks.
- Passphrases vs. passwords: A 4-word passphrase (Diceware) provides high entropy while remaining easy for humans to remember and type.
- Brute-force resistance: Adding length and complexity increases the search space exponentially, dramatically raising crack time for attackers.
All generation happens locally in your browser. Your passwords never leave your device.
Frequently Asked Questions
- No. All generation happens entirely in your browser using the Web Crypto API. No data leaves your device.
- Uppercase (A-Z), lowercase (a-z), numbers (0-9), and symbols (!@#$%^&*()_+-=[]{}|;:,.<>?). You can enable/disable each set.
- A passphrase is a sequence of random words (e.g., "correct-horse-battery-staple"). It provides high entropy against brute-force attacks while being far easier for humans to remember and type than a random character string.
- Password entropy is a measure of unpredictability, expressed in bits. A password with over 80 bits of entropy is considered highly secure. Longer passwords and larger character sets increase entropy exponentially.
- All generation happens entirely in your browser using the Web Crypto API. Your passwords are never transmitted to or stored on a server, so there is no risk of interception or logging.
- Yes, up to 50 passwords per batch. Use the Count field to generate a list.
- Once the page is loaded, the tool works offline because all logic runs client-side.
Business Password Generator — Strong, Secure Credentials on Demand
Every modern business depends on passwords to protect employee email, client records, admin dashboards, financial systems, and third-party services. Weak or reused credentials are a leading cause of data breaches, and a single compromised password can expose customer data, payment systems, and internal tools. The Password Generator creates strong, randomized credentials instantly, giving your team a fast, reliable way to meet security policies without guessing or recycling old passwords. A dedicated generator also removes human bias, which often produces predictable patterns that attackers can easily crack.
The tool runs entirely in your browser. No passwords are stored, transmitted, or logged, so sensitive credentials never leave your device. You control length, character types, and complexity, making it simple to generate passwords that satisfy compliance requirements for finance, healthcare, SaaS, and enterprise environments. Developers and business teams alike can create secure credentials on demand without waiting on IT ticket queues.
Use Cases
Businesses use the Password Generator for employee onboarding, issuing secure initial passwords for email, VPN, and internal dashboards. IT and security teams create administrator credentials for servers, databases, cloud consoles, and privileged accounts. Marketing and operations staff generate shared account passwords for social media, analytics platforms, and vendor portals. Developers produce test data and API keys for staging environments, while security teams rotate credentials on a regular schedule to reduce exposure from leaked or stale passwords.
How to Use the Password Generator
- Open the Password Generator tool and set your desired password length using the slider or input field.
- Toggle character options including uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols to match your organization’s policy.
- Click Generate to produce a strong, random password instantly.
- Copy the result to your clipboard and paste it into your account, directory, or secrets manager.
- Regenerate as needed until the password meets your length and complexity requirements.
Strong passwords are the first line of defense for any business. Use the Password Generator whenever you need to create, rotate, or replace credentials, and pair it with a password manager so your team stores and shares secrets safely. Regularly auditing and updating weak passwords across your organization reduces risk and helps you stay aligned with modern security standards. Make password generation part of your onboarding, offboarding, and quarterly security reviews to keep every account protected.
